Designing a Packing List for the First Martian Colony

Project Title and Description

Designing a Packing List for the First Martian Colony

Consider the first self-sustaining colony on Marts, consisting of a group of 6-12 colonists (this is one of the design variables).  Everything needed must come from Earth, or be fabricated on Mars (e.g. from indigenous materials).  What should the packing list be - including materials, equipment, and other supplies - to construct relevant life support systems upon arrival?  Design variables include the size of materials to transport and constraints for erecting/constructing and sustaining the colony on site.  The amount of time the original colonists must spend alone before a second wave of colonists arrive should be considered as well.
