    Dean Walker was named recipient of the 2021 Winifred Burks-Houck Professional Leadership Award, so named for the first female president of NOBCChE. The award recognizes the leadership, scientific achievements, and community service shown while continuing a career in STEM. As part of the award, she delivered the Winifred Burks-Houck Lecture, where she discussed water contamination. The lecture was also featured in Chemical and Engineering News, a publication of ACS.
