I chose this major because... I chose this major because I’ve always been fascinated by how technology works behind the scenes and even more by how it can be protected. With the growing number of cyber threats around the world, I wanted to be part of the community that helps make technology safer and more trustworthy. Computing & Security Technology lets me explore both the technical and problem-solving sides of cybersecurity from understanding systems and networks to learning how to identify and mitigate risks.
I also love that this field is constantly evolving, which means there’s always something new to learn and new challenges to tackle. It’s a major that combines curiosity, creativity, and purpose and that’s exactly what drew me to it.

When I'm not at Drexel, I'm... When I’m not at Drexel, you’ll probably find me hanging out with friends, planning fun events, or spending time with my family. I love exploring Philly, traveling when I can, and doing anything that helps me relax and recharge.
When you are in Philadelphia, I think you should... When you are in Philadelphia, I think you should explore the city! Try new foods, visit Rittenhouse Square, walk along the Schuylkill River Trail, and soak in the lively energy that makes Philly such a fun and welcoming place to be.
Advice to new/incoming CCI students: My advice to incoming CCI students is to take full advantage of all the opportunities Drexel offers, from hands-on projects to amazing co-ops and student organizations. Try new things, even if they scare you a little! Some of your best memories and lessons will come from moments when you said “yes” to something new. And remember, it’s okay to not have everything figured out, you’ll find your path as you go. Don’t be afraid to ask questions, connect with professors, and lean on your peers. Drexel is full of people who want to see you succeed. Most importantly, enjoy the process of learning, growing, and discovering where your passions lie!

Bio
Hello! I’m Maneha Khalid, a Computing & Security Technology major with a concentration in Security and a minor in Technology Innovation Management. I was born and raised in Pakistan and came to the U.S. to pursue my studies at Drexel, truly one of the best decisions I’ve ever made! I’m passionate about cybersecurity, IT auditing, and risk management, and I love exploring how technology and innovation work together to make the digital world safer. Beyond academics, I enjoy being part of Drexel’s community through my roles as a Dean’s Ambassador, Special Events Organizer for CAB, and member of the Pennoni Honors College. I completed my first co-op at Morgan Lewis in Information Security & Compliance and am currently doing my second at Chubb as an Internal IT Audit Co-op. My biggest advice to students is to get involved, explore opportunities, make connections, and truly make Drexel your home away from home.
