Sweet Tooth in Chinatown

Who else is a big foodie? If you're a foodie, then you're going to love Philadelphia. One of my favorite areas to go to for great food is Chinatown. In this blog, I'll narrow down my three favorite spots for dessert.

A La Mousse

If you’re a fan of pretty desserts and bubble tea, then you're in the right spot. This place sells one of my favorite cakes, the green tea crepe cake. If you've never seen one, it's layers of green tea-flavored crepe stacked together with special pastry cream in between. It's plated with your choice of ice cream. The texture of the cake is soft and luxurious. However, I will warn you that beautiful dessert is not cheap.

Some other favorites are the Matcha Mousse Cake and Sizzling Matcha Brownie. So if you love green tea, then this is the place to check out. They also sell coffee and tea and have an assortment of desserts that you can carry out.

I-CE NY Philly

There are many places in Chinatown that sell Thai rolled ice cream, but I-CE NY Philly makes it the best. Thai rolled ice cream is a popular Thai street dessert, which uses a cold plate to freeze the cream mixture. The ice cream is then rolled, placed in a cup, and topped with more sweets! The best part is that you can customize your dessert and see it made in front of you. One of my favorite flavors is their Hong Kong Milk Tea and Black Sesame. So if you're heading to Chinatown, I recommend you try this spot.

T-Swirl Crepe

Another great dessert place is T-Swirl Crepe. The thin crepe is folded in half and rolled into a cone shape with your choice of fruits, chocolate, or syrup in between. Then it is topped with your choice of condiments like fruits, nuts, Pocky, or sweet syrups. The crepe is crispy, sweet, and filling. You can make your own or choose one of their signature combinations. My personal favorite is Matcha Azuki Crepe (Azuki is the Japanese word for sweet red bean). I recommend this place if you want to share the dessert or if you didn't eat a lot beforehand. Can't go wrong with sweet crepes!

Philadelphia's Chinatown is a growing town with lots of delicious foods! There's also other dessert shops in Chinatown but these are the ones I would recommend over the others. I hope try them out when you can.
