The School of Biomedical Engineering, Science, and Health Systems is a nationally recognized center of research and graduate education that strives to promote health and quality of life through education, research, and innovation that integrates engineering and life sciences in a global context.
The multidisciplinary master’s, doctoral, and certificate programs are grounded in research opportunities and are offered on both a full- and part-time basis.
Each program consists of a core curriculum that provides the necessary technical and analytical training to prepare students to apply their knowledge and skills to current problems in biology and medicine. Further areas of specialization include:
Biomaterials and tissue engineering
Biomechanics and human performance engineering
Biosensors and biomedical imaging
Bioinformatics
Neuroengineering
Students in the biomedical engineering master's program may also participate in an optional Graduate Co-op experience.
Drexel is undertaking a bold Academic Transformation designed to align our distinctive strengths, academic structure, and strategic goals with our mission to prepare students for success in a rapidly evolving world. As part of this multi-year initiative, we will transition to a semester calendar, restructure several Colleges and Schools, and bolster our curriculum to better reflect the needs of today’s learners and tomorrow’s leaders. While these changes may lead to updates in academic programs, they are not expected to significantly disrupt students’ current plans of study. Every aspect of this transition is being carefully planned to ensure continuity, with a strong commitment to supporting students throughout the process.
