Westphal College of Media Arts & Design

First year graduate students learn traditional and technological skills to design silhouettes, surface embellishment, knitwear, sportswear, swimwear and children’s wear. In this year they begin to compose presentations and portfolios for their required participation in 3 international competitions. Yiling Lai ‘20 won second place in the C2C Student Design Competition of the American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists (AATCC). In the final term of their first year, graduate students take a required industry internship of their choice. Wanting to learn couture techniques, Yiling took her internship with couturier Frank Agostino.
