Westphal College of Media Arts & Design

Following a year of prerequisite work learning drawing, design and construction skills, first year graduate fashion students apply these skills in creating coordinating groups of fashion “looks.” Inspiration is assembled from art, design, nature, culture and the material world into a mood board, like the one created by first year graduate student Karen Lin. Sustainability and inclusivity are stressed in the Surface Design, Knitwear and Sportswear classes along with color, texture, fiber and silhouette. Technical Drawing and Design in the 3D Space courses help develop an ethical sourcing and production process using current technology.
