Sinead Meehan is a first-year doctoral student in Drexel’s PhD in Education program with a STEM focus as well as a research assistant in Drexel’s School of Education. Sinead is currently working with Dr. Christopher Wright and Dr. Lori Severino. Her intended research explores the structure of STEM education and investigates how our knowledge of child development and students scientific thinking can guide the way scientific knowledge and engineering concepts are presented at the elementary level. Through her research efforts, Sinead aims to design meaningful coursework for preservice and practicing teachers who work in diverse educational environments.
Sinead received a Bachelor of Science in Early Grades Education from West Chester University and Masters degree in Education from St. Catherine University. Prior to coming to Drexel, Sinead was an elementary and middle school teacher at several public and private schools, as well as a course instructor and field consultant for West Side Montessori School’s Teacher Education Program.
