The School of Education supports innovative and collaborative research labs that provides faculty and students the space they need to work together to make discoveries and meaningful, lasting impacts in the field of education. Labs are located within the School of Education located at 3401 Market street, 3rd floor. Descriptions of each of the Labs can be found below.
Education, Learning and Brain Sciences (E-LaBS)
E-LaBS brings together interdisciplinary faculty, researchers, administrators, and students from across Drexel University and higher education institutions worldwide who are committed to teaching and learning through innovative pedagogical and andragogical approaches that support lifelong and lifewide learning across dynamic educational and training environments.
Games and Learning in Interactive Digital Environments (GLIDE) Lab
The Games and Learning in Interactive Digital Environments (GLIDE) Lab was founded in 2013 by Dr. Aroutis Foster in order to bring together an interdisciplinary team of faculty, students, and industry professionals to engage in research on teaching and learning with immersive and interactive technologies.
Informal Learning Linking Engineering Science and Technology (ILLEST) Lab
The Informal Learning Linking Engineering Science and Technology (ILLEST) Lab serves as a beacon for creativity, collaboration, and mentorship for the West Philadelphia community. Our programming efforts are focused on science, technology, engineering, arts/advocacy/access, mathematics (STEAM) competencies, with a direct foundation in arts, advocacy, and access for all minoritized populations.
Justice-oriented Youth (JoY) Education Lab
The Justice-oriented Youth (JoY) Education Lab engages in research methods and critical civic praxis rooted in culturally relevant and sustaining pedagogies, critical race theory, intersectionality, and social justice youth development, with the intent to advance justice in all of its’ forms, particularly education, social, and racial justice.
McNichol Early Childhood Education Lab
The Lisa and John McNichol Early Childhood Education Lab serves as a hub of knowledge and innovation for practitioners, researchers, parents and other stakeholders in the field of early childhood education.
The Methods Lab
Through partnerships and rigorous design, The Methods Lab moves research, assessment, and evaluation practices forward across disciplines. Our team has the capacity to collaborate on a wide range of projects in the fields of education, STEM, and health professions within non-profit and private sectors.
