Monet Harbison

Monét Harbison is a third-year, part-time Ph.D. Candidate committed to advancing equity and inclusivity in education. Born and raised in Philadelphia, Monét has deep-rooted connections to the Black Bottom community, where her family has lived for generations and where Drexel University currently resides. Monét holds a Bachelor's in Communication and a Masters of Science in Education. Monét's research interests focus on foregrounding the experiences of Black Femme Academics utilizing narrative inquiry methods coupled with pop culture media. Frameworks that Monét explores in her inquiry include Black Spatial Imaginaries, Womanism, and Hip Hop Feminism. Through her work, Monét aspires to create a fair and equitable system that benefits all learners.
