Kate Hayes Hoffman is a PhD student in the School of Education at Drexel University. Originally from New England, Kate holds a B.A. and M.S. in School Counseling from Villanova University. Her research interests include understanding youth and parents’ experiences of belongingness in schools and designing for school belonging and inclusion. Prior to studying at Drexel, Kate worked in the Philadelphia education and nonprofit space supporting schools with partnerships, strategic planning, and learning design. As a former school counselor with the School District of Philadelphia, Kate hopes to elevate students' voice in her research and facilitate research translation for school communities. Kate is also a mom to three school age children, who help shape her perspective on education and learning every day.
