Jeaná Morrison is a 2018 graduate of Drexel's PhD in Educational Leadership Development and Learning Technologies program and is currently a Postdoctoral Associate at Boston University. She is a Philadelphia native who earned an undergraduate degree in Psychology and African American Studies from Temple University. Her experience studying abroad in Japan and participating in the Ronald McNair program sparked her desire to pursue graduate studies.
Experience teaching at the college level coupled with working closely with high school students in the Upward Bound program has ultimately prepared Jeaná for the larger goal of obtaining a doctoral degree.
As a PhD student, Jeaná served as both a research assistant and teaching assistant to faculty in the School of Education. She was also involved in various student activities at Drexel and is a member of a number of professional organizations.
Morrison's research interests focus on access and equity, race, and gender in higher education. Her dissertation will examine the experiences of black students at Brazilian universities that utilize affirmative action in admissions.
