Amanda is a former middle and high school mathematics teacher with certifications in mathematics and special education. Amanda attended Carlow University and graduated with a BS in Mathematics with minors in computer science and education.
After graduation, Amanda gained experience teaching in three states, Pennsylvania, California, and Florida. She taught for a total of ten years with six of them being in the middle school and four being at the high school level. During her last three years of teaching, which were at the high school level, Amanda earned her master’s degree in Mathematics Learning and Teaching from Drexel University.
Amanda’s research interests are in the area of literacy and its connects to STEM, mathematics specifically. She is interested in investigating current math teacher perceptions of literacy and its role in their classrooms.
