Alene O’Malley is a third-year doctoral candidate at Drexel University, School of Education. Hailing from Co. Limerick, Ireland, Alene holds a Bachelors of Education and a Masters of Education in Educational Leadership and Management from University of Limerick, Ireland. She taught at the primary (elementary) level in Ireland for over 10 years. In 2019, she was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to teach Gaelic at Villanova University. She then started the PhD program in Drexel’s School of Education in the Fall of 2021. Alene is currently teaching as an adjunct instructor at St. Joseph’s University. Her doctoral research interests lie in human resource development and mentoring practices as a means to motivate and retain teachers in the profession at every stage in their career.
