2025 Alumni Association Awards
Each year, the Drexel University College of Medicine Alumni Awards program recognizes exceptional alumni who go above and beyond in their professions, in the community and within the University. The recipients will be honored at a ceremony in the spring.

Biomedical Sciences Graduate Recognition Award
This award recognizes a master's graduate of the College of Medicine's Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences and Professional Studies (or any of the College's predecessor schools) who is highly acclaimed for professional accomplishments in their chosen profession as evidenced by significant contributions to the field of biomedical sciences.
Boots Cooper, MD, Service Award
This award recognizes a graduate of Drexel University College of Medicine or any of the predecessor schools who has over the years provided dedicated service to the community or the Alumni Association through leadership involvement and support. It is given in honor and memory of Boots Cooper, MD, WMC '65, who served as a member of the WMC faculty for many years and continued her service in medicine until her passing in 1992.
Emerging Leader Award
This award recognizes an MD graduate of Drexel University College of Medicine who in the early career stage has demonstrated outstanding leadership and/or service to the Alumni Association, the local community or the medical profession. Alumni within 15 years of graduation are preferred, with board discretion.
Graduate Citation Award: Early Career or Young Investigator
This award recognizes a PhD graduate of the College of Medicine's Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences and Professional Studies who is seen as an outstanding investigator in the early career stage with accomplishment in the field of biomedical research as evidenced by notable publications or presentations, who has made contributions by bringing important medications, devices or technologies to market, or who has made significant contributions to the field. Alumni within 15 years post-degree are preferred, with board discretion.
HU Distinguished Graduate Award
This award was established to recognize a Hahnemann University graduate who is highly acclaimed for excellent service and professional accomplishments, leadership in the medical profession, participation in professional organizations, or scholarly activity that brings recognition to the medical school and the Alumni Association.
Lifetime Achievement Award
This award recognizes a graduate of Drexel University College of Medicine, the College of Medicine's Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences and Professional Studies, or any of the predecessor schools, for outstanding professional achievements, personal integrity and stature, and lasting contributions to the recipient's chosen profession. The Lifetime Achievement Award is the highest honor given by the Alumni Association.
Outstanding Biomedical Sciences Graduate Award
This award recognizes any graduate of the College of Medicine's Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences and Professional Studies (or any of the College's predecessor schools) who is highly acclaimed for significant accomplishments in the field of biomedical research as evidenced by notable publications or presentations; or who has made contributions by bringing important medications, devices or technologies to market; or who has demonstrated significant accomplishment and excellence in teaching, mentorship, entrepreneurship or other professional contributions. Alumni who are at least 15 years post-degree are preferred, with board discretion.
Outstanding Medical Graduate Award
This award was established to recognize an MD graduate of Drexel University College of Medicine or any of the predecessor schools for significant accomplishment and excellence in one of the following areas: clinical practice, research, teaching, mentorship, entrepreneurship or professional contributions.
WMC/MCP Distinguished Graduate Award
This award was established to recognize a WMC or MCP graduate who is highly acclaimed for excellent service and professional accomplishments, leadership in the medical profession, participation in professional organizations, or scholarly activity that brings recognition to the medical school and the Alumni Association.
