Online applications are accepted all year round to be considered for fall entry into the program. Students may defer admission by one year. All admission decisions are made at the College of Medicine. A decision to accept you into the program will be made based on the sum of your prior coursework, cumulative GPA, standardized test scores (if provided), letters of recommendation and relevant research or professional experiences. For questions about how to apply to the program, please contact an enrollment counselor at duonline@drexel.edu.
- Submit your application online. There's no fee and it takes only 10 minutes.
- Submit your application materials. Most programs use rolling admissions, so the sooner you complete your file the sooner your application will be reviewed. Favorable application reviews will be followed by an interview with the program director (or a program representative).
- In 2-3 days you'll receive login information for the Discover Drexel Portal where you can track the status of your application materials.
- Apply for Financial Aid as soon as possible to ensure funds are available prior to the start of the term.

A completed four-year bachelor’s degree in biology, biochemistry, cell biology, microbiology, immunology or a related field (no marine biology, botany or environmental science degrees). To be considered for acceptance, an applicant must provide the following as part of a complete online application for admission. For details regarding the items below please review the Admission Application Instructions.
Transcripts
Official transcripts must be sent directly to Drexel from all the colleges/universities that you have attended. Transcripts must be submitted in a sealed envelope with the college/university seal over the flap. Please note that transcripts are required regardless of number of credits taken or if the credits were transferred to another school. An admission decision may be delayed if you do not send transcripts from all colleges/universities attended. (See checklist) A minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 is strongly preferred.
An evaluation by World Education Services (WES) is required for transcripts from institutions outside the United States.
Essay
Please submit a one-page essay explaining past successes, why the certificate is being pursued, what the applicant will contribute to the program and how the skills gained will further their career goals. If the applicant’s GPA is below 3.0, an additional 500-word explanation should be added to the essay, describing any factors that resulted in the GPA.
Letters of Recommendation
Two letters of support describing the applicant's competencies for graduate work; at least one academic letter of support is preferred, especially if the degree was earned in the last five years. Professional references are accepted from supervisors but not colleagues or friends.
Curriculum Vitae (CV) or Résumé
Upload your CV or résumé as part of your admission application or through the Discover Drexel portal after you submit your application.
Standardized Test Scores
There is no GRE requirement. Although standardized test scores are not required for admission, official copies of scores from the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) or Medical College Admission Test (MCAT) will be considered if submitted as part of the application.
All applicants whose primary language is not English or whose undergraduate degree is from a college or university outside of the United States are required to submit official Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) scores or International English Language Testing System (IELTS) scores. TOEFL score needs to be at least 90 with at least a 27 in both the reading and writing sections. IELTS score should be 7.5 or higher.
