Join the Department of Justice, Tax Division for a virtual presentation on the Department of Justice’s Honors Program and Summer Law Internship Program positions.

Learn about tips on applying, as well as a discussion of the Tax Division, which is one of the best-kept secrets in the Department. The Tax Division was the second highest ranked organization within the Department of Justice in the 2022 Best Places to Work in the Federal Government Rankings.

Tax courses or experience are NOT required! The Tax Division, primarily located in Washington, D.C., represents the United States in criminal and civil litigation around the country. Tax Division attorneys are immediately assigned cases and given hands-on litigation opportunities that are virtually unmatched in other private or public sector roles. We strive to build a collegial working environment that reflects the diversity of America.

We’re going to have sessions before the SLIP and Honors Program applications are due on September 5. All law students are welcome to attend any of them. The information for joining each is below.

  • Apply for Fall Pro Bono Opportunities by Wednesday, August 23 (noon)

If you are interested in participating in any of these projects, please be sure to submit your resume (some projects require a statement of interest and/or interview) and rank your choices in order of preference no later than the registration deadline of Wednesday, August 23 at 12:00pm. Please be sure to list more than one choice as space is limited in all projects. Listing only one opportunity does not increase your chances of being placed in that project. Dear Students,

Welcome back! I hope you all had a wonderful summer. As you begin the Fall Semester, keep in mind that it is time to start working towards satisfying the 50-hour Pro Bono Service Requirement (All JD students). You can begin doing pro bono work once you have completed one semester of law school. Please be mindful when planning your pro bono service for the year that most projects are not structured for students to earn 50 hours in one semester. Some projects will be offered only as remote opportunities while others will be in-person.

Please check your email for an updated list of the Pro Bono Opportunities that are available for you to enroll in this semester. Training for these projects will take place during the first few weeks of the Fall Semester.

If you have questions about any of the projects, or the Pro Bono Requirement, in general, please be in touch. I’m excited to work with each of you to find a rewarding and meaningful pro bono experience!

    Best,

    Rashida

Do you love to sing, meet new people, and participate in the Drexel community? The All-College Choir would love to have you join us this fall!

The All-College Choir is open to all Drexel students. There is no audition and no experience required, only a desire to meet new people, learn the process of ensemble singing and have fun in no-stress rehearsals. The All-College Choir sings a wide variety of music, including spirituals, Broadway, modern choral, pop, and many others. Solos are available for students who are interested. We rehearse on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:00pm until 4:20pm in Main Auditorium. If you are enrolled in a course that conflicts with some of our rehearsal time, you still may be able to join! Our first rehearsal of the year will be on Tuesday, September 26th at 3pm in Main Auditorium, or if you are on campus this Summer, we will be holding an information session on Monday, September 18th at 1pm. Our goal in the All-College Choir is to keep experienced choral singers singing in college and to introduce new singers to choral singing. To register for All College Choir, either self-register or ask your advisor to add MUSC 104-001 to your schedule. You may take the choir for one credit or no credits. To RSVP for the information session or ask questions, please feel free to email Prof. Scott Bacon, founder, and director of the All-College Choir, at sdb33@drexel.edu. Thanks, and have a great remainder of your Summer!
