    2022 Ms. JD Fellowship

    The Ms. JD Fellowship application is now open to second-year law students. This one-year program is designed to foster a commitment to excellence in a new generation of women attorneys, inspired by the generation of trailblazers who paved the way for their success. It is an opportunity to develop new skills, grow your network, and learn how to build and develop your personal brand.

    Each Fellowship recipient is paired with a mentor chosen from among the Brent Award honorees, Spirit of Excellence Award recipients, and ABA Commission on Women in the Profession Commissioners. Accepted Fellows also receive invitations and financial support to attend ABA and Ms. JD events, specifically Ms. JD’s annual conference and the ABA’s annual meeting.

    2022 Ms. JD Public Interest Scholarship

    The Ms. JD Public Interest Scholarship program provides a stipend to students as they pursue careers in public interest law. Current law students entering their second or third year at an ABA-accredited U.S. law school by the summer of 2022 are eligible to apply now.

    Former public interest scholarship award recipients have pursued internships in immigration law, women’s rights, public health, public defense, government at all levels, and criminal justice reform.

    Students can apply now on the Ms. JD Public Interest website. The deadline to submit an application is May 23, 2022.

  • Cozen O'Connor Needs Mock Jurors

    Cozen O’Connor is looking for students to serve as “jurors” on Friday, June 10th from 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. in Center City for the firm’s mock trial academy. Cozen O’Connor is looking for students to serve as “jurors” on Friday, June 10th from 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. in Center City for the firm’s mock trial academy. Every other year, the firm holds a four-day trial academy for its senior associates and junior partners. The program culminates with a half-day mock trial during which the Cozen O’Connor attorneys try a case before local judges and mediators. The firm is looking for volunteers to serve as jurors. Jurors observe the mock trials and then engage in a half-hour of deliberations before their verdict is delivered. No prep work is needed ahead of time!

    The trials will be held at Convene City View, 30 S. 17th Street (17th & Market). Lunch will be provided to all participants and volunteers at the conclusion of the program.

    This is a fantastic opportunity to meet and observe Cozen O’Connor litigators and members of their professional development and recruiting teams.     Arbitration Team tryout applications are due Friday, May 20 at 5:00 pm. Tryouts will be held over Zoom on June 1 and 2 starting at 6:00 pm. Each tryout will run for 10 minutes.     To try out for the Arbitration Team, you must complete the following by May 20 at 5 pm:
    (1) download and submit the Arbitration Application and a copy of your resume to Taylor Trusky at tmt327@drexel.edu
    (2) sign up for one tryout time slot using this link

    After the deadline, you will receive the tryout problem as well as your confirmed tryout time by May 23.
    REMINDER: you may only compete on one team, but you can try out for both Negotiation and Arbitration if you wish.

The DDJF was founded by a consortium of Delaware law firm, corporate, and public sector/interest legal employers committed to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in the Delaware bar by encouraging interested law students to explore summer and full-time opportunities to work in Delaware.

    The DDJF is an invitation-only event limited to rising 2L/3LED (2024) and rising 3L/4LED (2023) students interested in summer or full-time employment opportunities with law firm, government, and/or public sector/interest employers in Delaware. The DDJF format is a series of virtual interviews, hosted via FloRecruit, that take place between 10:00 am ET and 1:30 pm ET. Pre-selected students will receive an invitation to attend the DDJF in late June and be asked to accept or decline by early July.

    Additional information about the DDJF, including confirmed interview timing and virtual access details, will be provided to participating students in mid-July.

    Applications for the DDJF, which must include a resume, unofficial academic transcripts (law school and undergraduate), and a personal statement, are submitted through the DDJF's Symplicity recruiting site: https://lawdmpd-csm.symplicity.com/students. The application deadline is 11:59 pm ET on Friday, May 27, 2022.
