The Andy and Gwen Stern Community Lawyering Clinic (Stern CLC) will have opportunities for students to earn up to 50 pro bono hours during the summer of 2023.
The Stern CLC handles a variety of legal issues for individuals from the neighborhoods around Drexel, including homeownership, landlord-tenant issues, probate administration, estate planning, and post-conviction relief, among others. Volunteers may assist with screening calls, walk-ins, referrals, intake interviews, and representation; office and file management; outreach and relationship building; and/or legal research and advocacy projects.
Volunteers will be supervised by the clinic’s Assistant Director and should expect to work the majority of their hours in person at the Dornsife Center for Neighborhood Partnerships at 3509 Spring Garden Street. Occasional working from home may be permitted as appropriate.
Interested students should submit a brief Statement of Interest, resume, and anticipated schedule of availability to Rashida West (rtw27@drexel.edu) and Stephanie Dorenbosch (sad336@drexel.edu) by Friday, May 5. Applications received after the deadline will be considered if space remains available.
