  • Legal Education Police Practices Consortium Fellowship Program

    Deadline: November 12

    Kline Law is a member of the ABA Legal Education Police Practices Consortium, which aims to contribute to the national effort examining and addressing legal issues in policing and public safety, including conduct, oversight, and the evolving nature of police work.

    The Kline School of Law is a member of the ABA Legal Education Police Practices Consortium. The Consortium aims to contribute to the national effort examining and addressing legal issues in policing and public safety, including conduct, oversight, and the evolving nature of police work. The Consortium will leverage the ABA’s expertise and that of participating ABA accredited law schools to collaborate on projects to develop and implement better police practices throughout the United States.

    Each member school will select a Fellow for the spring term. They will be working collaboratively with the ABA and Fellows from other member law schools. A fuller description of the Fellowship is attached.

    The Fellow will receive a grant of $2000 and will be expected to work 10 hours per week over the course of the Spring Semester.

    Interested students should apply by sending a brief cover letter and resume to Dean Filler at lawdean@drexel.edu. For any questions, please reach out to Dean Filler. Applications will be accepted up to November 12 at 11:59 pm ET with a decision made by the end of the month.

    Q. What is an Inn of Court?
    A. An association of lawyers, judges, law professors, and law students dedicated to professional excellence. Our Inn is affiliated with the national American Inns of Court organization. There are Inns across the country, and Inns in England that date from the 14th century.

    Q. How does joining the Inn benefit me?
    A. You have the opportunity to network with judges, lawyers from multiple practice areas, and law professors. You will be provided with opportunities for mentorship from distinguished members of the bench and bar. Also, the Inns of Court are well-known and recognized by attorneys across the country, including future employers, as a hallmark of dedication to excellence.

    Q. What would I do as part of an Inn of Court?
    A. You will be part of our regular meetings which offer networking and socialization, mentorship, and education through presentations on a variety of legal issues. You will also be placed into a pupilage group.

    Q. When and where are the meetings?
    A. Most of the meetings are approximately monthly on Tuesday evenings.

  • Diversity and Inclusion Committee (DiveIN) 1L Student Fellow

    Fellows are expected to attend the majority of DiveIN meetings and events and to play an active role in promoting diversity, inclusion and well-being at the law school.

    DiveIN seeks 1L students to serve as Fellows on the Committee. Fellows helps promote student ideas and perspective, and spread the word about DiveIN events. Fellows are expected to attend the majority of DiveIN meetings and events and to play an active role in promoting diversity, inclusion and well-being at the law school. Fellows are encouraged to remain on the Committee for the duration of their time in law school, but the initial commitment begins January 2022.

    Mid-semester can be a stressful time for some students and we encourage you to participate in various events and take notice of various resources that will be made available.

    Beginning Monday, October 11, which falls right after the ABA designated Law Student Mental Health Day, you will see a lot going on virtually and in the building around mental health and wellness.
