HR @ Your Service
January 2017
Drexel’s Human Resources department has unrolled HR @ Your Service, a new program that will make it easier for faculty and staff to navigate personal and professional opportunities. Vice President of Human Resources & Organizational Effectiveness Megan Weyler answered some questions about the new service, including how it came about and how you can benefit from this new development.
Q: What is HR @ Your Service?
A: HR @ Your Service is the creation, combination and expansion of the various personal and professional development opportunities Human Resources (HR) provides to Drexel faculty and professional staff. The program will offer new in-person sessions covering a broad range of HR topics with the opportunity to consult with the HR specialist/presenter. In addition to these new sessions, HR @ Your Service also unifies all of HR's personal and professional enrichment offerings – including those offered by Learning & Development and A Healthier U – under one umbrella.
Q: How and why did you decide to launch this rebranding effort?
A: The name "HR @ Your Service" was chosen to reflect our renewed commitment to delivering the highest quality customer service to faculty, professional staff and all employees of Drexel University. It's a direct response to the feedback we received from the Human Resources Survey calling for better customer service, improved communication and greater use of technology to make HR processes more efficient. HR @ Your Service strives to meet all of these goals by offering more enrichment programs covering a wider range of topics and streamlining the communication of these offerings.
Q: What types of programs will you be offering as part of HR @ Your Service?
A: The possibilities are practically endless now that we have expanded this program to include sessions on just about any service HR provides and beyond. The first session, which will be held on Dec. 7, covers new HR policies. Future sessions planned for 2017 include: "Retiring From Drexel," "Working With Minors," "Partnering With Human Resources," and "Compensation – Salary Structure and Salary Grades." Some sessions will be offered through University partners outside of HR, such as May's session, "Why You Need a Will," presented by Institutional Advancement.
Q: How can HR @ Your Service benefit faculty and professional staff?
A: We invite faculty and professional staff to take advantage of these sessions for their own personal and professional development. Learn a new skill. Discover work technologies you haven’t used before. Deepen your institutional knowledge. Network with colleagues. And take the opportunity to ask questions and provide feedback.
Q: Where can faculty/staff find more information about and register for these sessions?
A: All HR @ Your Service offerings are listed on the HR Events Calendar and the Career Pathway calendar, which is accessed via DrexelOne. For programs requiring registration, you must use Career Pathway to sign up.
