The availability of high-quality preschool on the University City campus becomes a reality with the opening of Chesterbrook Academy^® Preschool at Drexel in the Vue32 apartment building at 3201 Race Street. For those of us in Drexel Human Resources, the school's debut is especially gratifying, because we know this is a resource that has been sought after by so many Drexel faculty and professional staff.

The move to create an early learning center close to campus responded to strong support from Drexel employees, who were surveyed to gauge interest. The University and its Vue32 development partner, the Radnor Property Group, were able to attract a renowned provider in Chesterbrook Academy, a Nobel Learning Communities school. Along with the convenience of the Chesterbrook Academy location, Drexel employees qualify for a 5 percent discount on preschool tuition, which includes diaper-changing supplies. The discount for University employees is also available at other Chesterbrook locations in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

The new facility can accommodate up to 180 children ages 6 weeks through kindergarten. In addition to preschool throughout the year, Chesterbrook will offer camps for school-age children during the summer and over school breaks. According to Chesterbrook Academy, its approach to preschool expertly combines academics and structured play through its proprietary Links to Learning curriculum.
