Welcome Week is Drexel's official kickoff to the new academic year and includes a variety of programs, events and opportunities to help get you acquainted to the Drexel community. The following opportunities and events are optional and open to new, incoming graduate students starting in the fall quarter. Students starting in the winter, spring, and summer terms will be invited to participate in the next Welcome Week in the fall. Please note that some Welcome Week programs are only open to new, incoming graduate students or undergraduate students and require advanced registration. Students starting in winter, spring and summer terms will be invited to participate in the following fall's Welcome Week.

Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) Training Day

8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.This session provides an overview of the core principles and professional standards essential to the ethical and responsible conduct of research. Topics covered include data acquisition and management, authorship, peer review, mentor-mentee relationships, research misconduct, and the protection of human and animal subjects. Through case studies and interactive discussion, participants will explore real-world ethical dilemmas and learn strategies to uphold integrity in their research practices. Face-to-face training is required for all individuals as assigned by their school, college or program, as well as all trainees, fellows, participants, and scholars receiving support through any NIH training, career development award (individual or institutional), research education grant, and dissertation research grant. Face-to-face RCR training is also strongly recommended for undergraduate and graduate level students, as well as faculty, who plan to conduct research, regardless of the funder, for individuals who have not otherwise completed live RCR training.

It's the perfect way to kick off your Drexel experience and start building your community. All clues will lead you to popular landmarks throughout Drexel's campus, University City (near 40th and Market), the Museum District (Benjamin Franklin Parkway), Center City (22nd Street to 6th Street & Market), and Old City (6th Street to Front Street & Market). The clues are organized to start your search in Center City and finish back on campus. There are multiple ways to get around the city during your search. * Walking is always a great option. If it's a sunny day, it's the perfect opportunity to explore the city and chat with new friends. * The Drexel Dragon Route Shuttle runs on a continuous loop from campus to Center City Philadelphia starting at 7:00 a.m. * SEPTA's Market Frankford Line (L) has a station at 34th and Market and will take you to Center City and Old City. The fare is $2.90 each way, and exact change is required if paying with cash. * SEPTA also offers the SEPTA Key Card, a reusable transit card that can be loaded with fare using a debit or credit card for convenient travel. Interaction is Key: Get to know your surroundings, have fun with new friends, and take photos along the way!
