Drexel Engineering Climbs 22 Places in ‘Best Graduate Schools’ Rankings

The 2025 U.S. News & World Report “Best Graduate Schools” rankings, released today, show impressive gains for Drexel University's College of Engineering, which moved up 22 spots to #75 in the Best Engineering Schools list.

Several departments within the College also earned strong rankings. The Materials Engineering program is ranked #29, an improvement of 8 spots from last year. The Chemical Engineering program is ranked #53, rising 7 places. Other notable rankings include Civil Engineering at #51, Mechanical Engineering at #56, Computer Engineering at #55, Electrical/Electronic/Communications Engineering at #59, and Environmental/Environmental Health Engineering at #41.

"These results in the U.S. News rankings are a testament to the outstanding work being done by our faculty, researchers and students," said Kapil Dandekar, PhD, E. Warren Colehower Chair Professor and Associate Dean for Enrollment Management and Graduate Education. "Drexel Engineering's upward trajectory reflects our commitment to conducting impactful research, providing a world-class education, and developing solutions to global challenges."

The U.S. News Best Engineering Schools methodology weighs factors including research activity, faculty resources, student selectivity, and assessments by peers and recruiters. The rankings are based on statistical surveys of more than 220 engineering schools that grant doctoral degrees. Drexel Engineering's ranking improvements reflect its strong performance across these various metrics.
