Alumnus Davide Mattia (PhD 2008) has been promoted to Full Professor and Associate Dean for Research in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Bath, UK.
Mattia's research interests are in the area of engineered nanomaterials synthesis and applications. He has co-authored over 20 papers in refereed journals, two book chapters and holds two patents in the area of nanotechnology.
At Drexel, Mattia worked under the mentorship of Distinguished University and Trustee Chair Professor Yury Gogotsi and the Nano Materials Group on the synthesis and characterization of carbon nanotubes for nanofluidic applications. Upon graduation, he received the University’s award for doctoral students deemed to have the most promise in enhancing Drexel's reputation in the Mathematical Sciences and Engineering. In 2016 he was recognized as one of Drexel’s 40 Under 40.
