Academic Partnerships

The College of Engineering collaborates with external partners to develop a wide range of academic program options.  For colleges and universities, we design programs to fit many needs – undergraduate transfer, early admission, dual-degree and accelerated master’s programs, as well as graduate certificates tailored to the needs of industry and government stakeholders. We work with schools near Drexel University in Philadelphia and all over the world.

For corporate and industry partners, we have experience designing specialized graduate certificate programs to fill a knowledge gap in a specific engineering discipline or to provide up-to-the-minute technical training.

Industrial and Corporate Partnerships

Customized post-bachelor certificate programs designed for our academic partners typically consist of 4 – 6 courses selected to build certain skills and fill in skills gaps. Once complete, credits may be applied to a master’s degree program in engineering. Some current partners include Baltimore Gas and Electric (BG&E), Lockheed Martin, and the Naval Air Warfare Center.

For industry partners please visit our Industrial Academic Partnership page.

Domestic Engineering Education Partners

Drexel Engineering works with local universities for transfer, early admission, and accelerated BS/MS degree programs.  These programs allow bachelor and master students in partner schools to have a seamless transfer of credits or apply early for a master’s degree.

Current Undergraduate Engineering partners:

  • Bucks County Community College - undergraduate transfer
  • Community College of Philadelphia - undergraduate transfer
  • Delaware County Community College - undergraduate transfer
  • Montgomery County Community College - undergraduate transfer
  • Rowan College at Burlington County - undergraduate transfer

Current Master's Degree programs:

  • Saint Joseph’s University - 4+1 BS/MS accelerated degree program
  • Smith College - early MS admission

International Education Partners for Master's Degree Programs

Drexel Engineering collaborates with academic partners in India to offer graduate transfer and early admissions programs. Transfer programs allow the student to shorten the length of time as a student at Drexel University to obtain a master’s degree and receive their degree in one year. For these programs, interested students work with the admissions counselor to ensure they meet the criteria for each program type.

Graduate Credit Transfer Programs

For credit transfer programs, please consult the academic advisors at the named partnership for more information and to start the application process to make sure you select the correct courses, initiate your application at both the graduate transfer credit partner and Drexel, and complete the required application and credit transfer documents.

For these programs, interested students work with the admissions counselor to ensure they meet the criteria for each program type. For most programs, a 3.0 undergraduate GPA (on a 4.0 scale) and an engineering degree are required.
