Zikria Syed

Mr. Syed is an entrepreneur who founded his latest company, PatientWing, in 2016. PatientWing operates out of Drexel University and the University City Science Center's incubator space, known as IC@3401. PatientWing enables patients to enroll in clinical trials. It is used by pharmaceutical companies and research sites to list and promote clinical trials online and enroll patients.
Mr. Syed was the co-founded and served as CEO of NextDocs, a global leader in providing Microsoft SharePoint-based compliance solutions to life sciences organizations, enabling businesses in regulated industries to achieve compliance with FDA and other agencies while automating processes, improving efficiency, and dramatically reducing costs. Prior to founding NextDocs, Mr. Syed served as CEO of Broadpeak, a clinical trial management software company that was acquired by Datalabs and then served as vice president of Product Management & Collaborative Solutions for Datalabs. He had also held several senior technical and management positions at Microsoft Corporation and Siemens Medical Systems.
In addition to his Drexel degree, he received an undergraduate degree in Computer Science from Lock Haven University in 1987. In 2012, he was inducted into Drexel's College of Engineering's Alumni Circle of Distinction.
