Tim Gorichanaz, PhD, associate teaching professor of information science at Drexel University's College of Computing & Informatics, has spent over a decade exploring the limits of human endurance through ultramarathon running.
After years of anticipation, in June 2025 he finally competed in the prestigious Western States® 100-Mile Endurance Run, a 100-mile trail race in California. Despite recovering from an ankle injury, Gorichanaz not only completed the race but also contributed to scientific research by providing data for a study on endurance athletes.
His journey reflects a deep curiosity—both academic and personal—about what the body and mind can achieve.
