Commencement 2019 in Tweets

Drexel's commencement ended with a fireworks show.

The Drexel University community once again gathered under the stadium lights at Citizens Bank park on June 14 to congratulate the class of 2019 as they turned their tassels and became #foreverdragons.

Many Dragons shared their special moments throughout the day on Twitter. Here’s a compilation of what was said, seen, heard and experienced on Commencement day 2019.

The celebrations kicked off earlier in the week at individual college and school ceremonies on June 13 and 14, held on campus and at The Mann Center in Fairmount Park. The College of Medicine and Kline School of Law also hosted ceremonies last month at the Kimmel Center.

Excitement continued to mount throughout the day on June 14 before the big University-wide ceremony at Citizen's Bank Park.

Before the ceremony began, graduates and their loved ones gathered near the ball park for pre-commencement celebrations. They celebrated with each other — as well as a special guest, the Phillie Phanatic!

It was soon time for the graduates and other honorees to start processing! When they left, they would no longer be Drexel students, but alumni instead.

The night was filled with amazing speeches, imparting wisdom onto graduates as they made their way into the next phase of their lives. Merck CEO and Chairman Ken Frazier gave the keynote address.

The day’s celebrations certainly extended beyond the graduates themselves with friends, family and mentors taking to social media to show their support for students.

And just like that, THAT’S A WRAP on the Class of 2019! Next, it’s the Class of 2020’s turn.

Oh, but first there were FIREWORKS obviously!
