Understanding Neurodiversity in Tech

Tuesday, April 27, 2021

6:00 PM-7:00 PM

In recognition of Autism Acceptance Month, CCI's Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Council is hosting a virtual discussion on neurodiversity.

The term neurodiversity was created in the late 1990s by Judy Singer, an Australian sociologist, who emphasized a movement with the goal to embrace those with learning and thinking differences. From recruitment to representation, neurodiversity in tech and within our College community is an important discussion for us to facilitate.

During this discussion, Dr. Amy Edwards and Peggy Monaghan from the Drexel Autism Support Program will briefly explain neurodiversity and useful resources at Drexel.

In addition, we are excited to include two neurodivergent CCI students; Emma Holt (Junior, CST) and Ethan Bradway (Junior, Computer Science) who will join us to discuss their experiences at Drexel and how they landed amazing co-op positions.
