Biography

I worked as a machine learning researcher Postdoctoral fellow at Trillium in Frontier Development Labs with founding from NASA and the European Space Agency. I have a PhD in Systems and Computing Engineering, a Master of Systems and Computing Engineering, and two majors: one in BE Systems and Computing Engineering, and one in BE Industrial Engineering. I did all my studies at the National University of Colombia, which is the best university in Colombia and number 219 worldwide according to the QS ranking. I have also worked as a lecturer professor at Drexel University and my alma mater.

I am the founder of a tech company, Sammu, with extensive experience in Computer Science and Engineering, and I have a wide range of expertise in machine learning, computer vision and cybersecurity. I am thrilled to contribute to the development of innovative instructional and research programs in the fields. In my PhD in Systems and Computing Engineering, my research endeavors focused on cutting-edge areas of computer science and engineering, including the development of advanced machine learning algorithms, computer vision, statistics, cybersecurity, health-related machine learning algorithms (such as robustness estimation, anomaly detection algorithms, incremental learning for anomaly detection), natural language processing techniques, quantum machine learning and scalable software architectures. I have contributed to various research projects and have published my work in reputable journals (such as Neurocomputing, IEEE Access, and Quantum Machine Intelligence, among others) and conference proceedings (such as NeurIPS, AAAI, ICDM, AGU, IBERAMIA, among others). I have served as a reviewer in several journals such as Neurocomputing, NCAA, and Radioscience. Additionally, I have been a reviewer at conferences such as NeurIPS, and NLDL. Additionally, I want to briefly mention that my PhD advisor was Doctor Fabio A. Gonzalez, who is the fourth most cited Colombian researcher and was awarded in 2022 as the best technology researcher of Colombia.
