Update on USCIS Processing for Individuals from Certain Travel-Restricted Countries

A federal court issued a decision on June 5, 2026 to vacate USCIS processing policies that had impacted individuals from 40 countries subject to current U.S. travel restrictions.

At this time, the court ruled that USCIS should no longer place immigration benefit applications on hold solely because an applicant is from one of the affected countries. Because the legal situation remains subject to further government action and possible appeals, additional changes may occur in the coming weeks or months.

Drexel International Students and Scholars Services (ISSS) will continue to monitor developments and provide updates as more information becomes available.
