CDC Entry Restrictions Related to Ebola Outbreak
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has issued a temporary public health order restricting the entry of certain individuals who have recently been present in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Uganda, or South Sudan due to the ongoing Ebola outbreak. The restrictions generally apply to non-U.S. citizens who have been physically present in one of these countries within the previous 21 days.
Students, scholars, and employees who have recently traveled to or through the DRC, Uganda, or South Sudan under Drexel’s non-immigrant visa sponsorship (F-1, J-1, H-1B, O-1, TN) may be denied boarding or refused entry into the United States until at least 21 days have passed since their departure from those countries.
All students, faculty, and staff traveling on official Drexel business or in relation to their course of study at the university must seek travel approval from Drexel Global Safety and Operations. Travel to any of the above-mentioned countries is subject to high-risk travel restrictions and is unlikely to be approved at this time.
ISSS and Drexel Global Safety and Operations recommend that members of the Drexel community avoid nonessential travel to these countries at this time and to consult with Drexel Global (global@drexel.edu) and/or an ISSS adviser (isss@drexel.edu) before making travel plans if they may be affected by these restrictions.

ISSS and Drexel Global Safety and Operations will continue monitoring the situation and will provide updates as additional information becomes available.
