The U.S. Department of State Temporary Pause Scheduling of New Visa Interview for F and J Visa Applicants

The U.S. Department of State (DoS) has temporarily paused scheduling of new visa interviews for F-1 and J visa applicants. According to a press briefing from May 29, 2025, DoS expects the pause to be brief. They are encouraging applicants to continue submitting applications and to check regularly for the resumption of appointment availability.
