USCIS Policy Memorandum Introduces New Measures on Immigration Benefits
On December 2, the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) issued a policy memorandum introducing new restrictive measures on immigration benefit applications for individuals who are citizens of, or were born in, the 19 countries included in President Trump's June 2025 travel ban. As a result, pending benefit applications have been paused, and USCIS is re-evaluating already approved benefits for foreign nationals from the travel ban countries who entered the U.S. on or after January 20, 2021.
If you are in the F-1, J-1, H-1B, or any other visa category sponsored by Drexel and believe you may be affected by this new policy memorandum, please reach out to the International Students and Scholars Services (ISSS) at isss@drexel.edu.
ISSS will continue monitoring further developments and post relevant updates on this page.
