Housing and Residence Life
Creating Residential Communities that Facilitate Engaged Learning for All Students
Housing and Residence Life creates a home away from home for Drexel's residential students. While living on campus, students will learn the value of living in a diverse community, engage with their peers, gain a greater sense of self-awareness, and form a better connection to the Drexel campus. The strength of Housing and Residence Life is in its ability to help Drexel students find success on campus, both inside and outside of the classroom. Housing and Residence Life strives to establish innovative and creative ways to cultivate residential communities to assist the students in achieving these goals.
Drexel's on-campus residential communities span every level of the institution, from first-year students through those in graduate school. Housing and Residence Life ensures that each residential community meets the developmental needs of its specific population.
- Reoccurring weekly and monthly programming for all residential students like Quizzo the first Monday of each month, Pictionary the last Wednesday of each month, etc.)
- Weekly "packaged programs" for all residential students. These programs will allow residents to pick up supplies in the lobby of their building and complete the program with RAs via a scheduled zoom or on their own time. For example: Potting Plants – residents can pick up baggies of soil, mini pots, and herb seeds with an instruction sheet.
- Ongoing collaboration with campus partners (CLASS study tips, Career Services résumé workshops, etc.)
Housing and Residence Life uses a student-centered approach to create an inclusive environment that fosters personal growth, effective problem solving, and collaborative conflict resolution. Housing and Residence Life promotes safety through proactive education and access to resources. We engage students to be active and reflective individuals who understand the impact of their actions on the community.
Housing and Residence Life strives to create an environment that complements a Drexel student's academic, professional and personal pursuits.
