Drexel’s Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education is designed to address the many variables of today’s secondary classroom. Our goal is to train a new generation of teachers who can impact a new generation of learners.
  
The curriculum for the BS in Secondary Education has technology at its core and a strong emphasis on STEM subject areas.

What Is Secondary Education?

Secondary education includes middle and high school, or grades 7-12. For those looking to get a high school teaching degree or a middle school teaching degree, the secondary education major covers both high school and middle school with a single Bachelors of Science (BS) in Secondary Education.

Secondary Education Degree Concentrations

At the end of the sophomore year, a review of the student's content and pedagogy coursework will determine acceptance into the Teacher Certification Program.

Coursework focuses on students in grades 7–12 in the following areas:

Students wishing to earn more than one teaching certification may do so with consultation from their academic advisor.

What Can You Do With A Secondary Education Degree?

Students who earn a degree in secondary education will be able to teach in different levels of education including both middle and high school. Students will specialize their certification by subject area ranging from Math to English to Science.
