Drexel’s Bachelor of Science in Teacher Education is designed to address the many variables of today’s secondary classrooms. Our goal is to train a new generation of teachers who can impact a new generation of learners.
  
The curriculum for the BS in Teacher Education has technology at its core and a strong emphasis on STEM subject areas.

WHAT IS SECONDARY EDUCATION?

Secondary education, in Pennsylvania, includes grades 7-12. This degree is for those looking to get a high school teaching degree or teach a specific subject area in 7th or 8th grade. Students graduate with a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Secondary Education and a concentration in their subject area.

BS IN TEACHER EDUCATION DEGREE CONCENTRATIONS

At the end of the sophomore year, a review of the student's content and pedagogy coursework will determine acceptance into the teacher certification program.

Coursework focuses on students in grades 7–12 in the following areas:

Students wishing to earn more than one teaching certification may do so with consultation from their academic advisor.

WHAT CAN YOU DO WITH A SECONDARY EDUCATION DEGREE?
