Paperwork required for submission to the IACUC for pre-review

  • IACUC Protocol Form
  • Research Proposal Section of the Application to the Sponsor (Sponsored Projects)

Standard Protocol Review Process (refer to calendar for dates)

  • Principal investigator submits the application materials in DragonSPOT
  • Application is pre-reviewed by a primary and a secondary reviewer, statistician, outside member and by the veterinarian.
  • Pre-review comments are emailed directly to the Principal investigator (refer to calendar for date)
  • The principal investigator emails the revised application along with a letter summarizing responses to pre-reviewers’ comments to the IACUC coordinator(refer to calendar for due date)
  • IACUC reviews protocol at meeting
  • IACUC approves, deferred with conditions, tables or disapproves the protocol.

Please Note:

  • Industry-Sponsored Contract – please submit your contract via DragonSPOT to the Office of Research for review. Execution of one’s contract is required prior to receiving IACUC approval.
  • IACUC Application, Instructions and Certification Requirements – please visit off the Office of Research & Innovation website.
  • All personnel listed in the protocol must be certified for: 1) Occupational Health & Safety Program (Annual Health Review) 2) Species-Specific (hands-on) Training 3) CITI on-line training programs: – Access to CITI on-line training programs can be found on the Office of Research & Innovation website.
    * Documentation needs to be uploaded to the protocol in DragonSPOT.
