Our graduate students gain career-focused learning experiences and extensive training in their chosen fields. The key mission of the Graduate School is to provide innovative, cross-disciplinary, intellectually diverse academic programs that are integral to a comprehensive 21st century graduate education. The collaborative nature of the Graduate School with other Drexel schools (Engineering and College of Arts and Sciences, among others) provides students with a multidisciplinary advantage.
Samuel Kou
Intensive Medical Sciences
"I decided that the Intensive Medical Sciences program was a good fit because it would provide an opportunity to not only show my academic capabilities, but also to work with advisors to ensure my application was the best it could be."
Meet Samuel
Diane Eggers
Pathologists' Assistant (PathA)
"The Pathologists’ Assistant program at Drexel University was the first program I started researching. I liked the location in Philadelphia, as I have both family and friends in that area, and the program staff were very friendly and helpful while I gathered information about the program and through the application process. When I got my acceptance letter, enrolling was a no-brainer."

Patrice Clemenza
Intensive Medical Sciences
"Throughout high school and college I shadowed different physicians and volunteered at hospitals further solidifying my decision to go into medicine. My volunteer experiences were instrumental in my decision because I enjoyed working together with patients helping solve their problems."
Meet Patrice
Wenxin Zhu
Intensive Medical Sciences
"I felt the Intensive Medical Sciences program was the perfect fit for me because it was a one-year program that allowed me to take the same classes as first-year medical students, giving me a better idea of what I can expect and show my growth as a student since my undergraduate studies."
Meet Wenxin
Madison Manz
Pathologists' Assistant
"My two years in the program passed by very quickly and in coming to the end of my time at Drexel I can easily say I am very pleased this was the program I chose. Even though the academic year was challenging I felt like it provided me with all the necessary tools going into my clinical year. One thing I really value about Drexel’s program is the ability to have close connections with the teachers."

Ryan Murphy
Interdisciplinary Health Sciences
"The IHS students have a great sense of community and work as a team for everyone to succeed. Faculty and professors in IHS are world class and have been such great mentors to me."
Meet Ryan
Ben Haslund-Gourley
Microbiology & Immunology
"When I interviewed at Drexel, I was impressed with the caliber of the research combined with the welcoming attitude of the students and faculty and knew I could get the support and freedom to thrive."
Meet Ben
Rusia H. Lee
Cancer Biology
"What is for sure is that if you're open to it, you will learn everything from the tangible skills, like the biochemical assays and the actual benchwork, to the intangible skills, like lab etiquette and how to present data to your team/boss. No matter where you go in science, these are the skills that are highly sought after."
Meet Rusia
Alexa Ariazi
Evening Post-baccalaureate Pre-medical
"I knew I was going to need to work while completing the program, and Drexel’s PMED program is one of the few post-baccs that have evening classes, allowing you to work full time during the day [...] I was hoping to join a program where you could get to know the faculty and be in a smaller class size, which is the case with PMED."
Meet Alexa
Esin Bulut
Interdisciplinary Health Sciences
"The people! The premed environment is highly competitive and borderline toxic. The Interdisciplinary Health Sciences program has been the opposite of that. We share every single opportunity with each other; we want to see each other succeed and wear that white coat as colleagues. In Interdisciplinary Health Sciences, you are not your low GPA, grades, or scores; you are a future doctor/PA/dentist worthy of great opportunities and scores."
Meet Esin
Bryan Pham
Medical Science & MD Program
"The faculty and resources that are available to you are difficult to find in other programs. The program allows you to develop critical thinking skills that will help carry you in any field that requires research."
Meet Bryan
Rebecca Moeller
Cancer Biology
"I had a really great relationship with the faculty — not only were they always accommodating and willing to answer questions, but they genuinely care about the success of their students. I had the privilege to do my first lab rotation at the Wistar Institute, and even there I was warmly welcomed and given every opportunity I could grasp. I’m a very independent scientist, and faculty were always able to guide me while accommodating my desire to really spearhead my own project. It was a very personalized experience."
Meet Rebecca
Elijah Davis
Microbiology & Immunology
"I knew that I wanted to conduct impactful research that shed light on unsolved questions of the world. That is exactly what I found at Drexel University College of Medicine. The studies here range from microbiology to pharmacology and include everything in between. It was evident to me that this was the place to be for high-quality research."
Meet Elijah
Jill Lawrence
Molecular & Cell Biology & Genetics
"Whatever it is you decide to pursue, make sure it is something that you genuinely find fascinating and exciting. Of course you won't feel that way 100% of the time, but the topic should be something that, at the end of the day, you're proud to be focusing on."
Meet Jill
Candace Rizzi-Wise
Neuroscience
"In addition to my graduate research I am on the board of the Biomedical Sciences Graduate Student Association (BSGSA) and a member of Biomedical Graduate Students for Diversity (BGSD). BSGSA has been great because I get to interact with students from different programs and advocate for graduate student needs to try to make academic experience the best it can be."
Meet Candace
Stacia Lewandowski
Pharmacology & Physiology
"My initial interest in the Pharmacology and Physiology Department was partly due to their involvement in the Drug Discovery and Development program. I had always wanted to go into biopharma, and the opportunity to take classes in drug discovery was exciting to me. Additionally, a big draw for me was the work that Dr. Ole Mortensen was doing, and after meeting him I knew I wanted to work in his lab."
