Leading Together: Intergenerational Collaboration in Academic Medicine

We are pleased to invite you to Drexel University College of Medicine’s annual Faculty Professional Development Day and Faculty Awards on Thursday, June 18, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Health Sciences Building and via Zoom.

This year’s theme, Leading Together: Intergenerational Collaboration in Academic Medicine, will explore how faculty across all career stages can learn from one another and work together to strengthen teaching, scholarship, leadership, mentorship and community within academic medicine.

The program will feature a plenary session and career-stage-specific workshops designed to support faculty development at every level. We are honored to welcome nationally recognized leaders in academic medicine, including keynote speaker Dr. Shari Barkin, pediatrician-in-chief for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, George W. Brumley Jr. Professor and Chair of the Department of Pediatrics at Emory University School of Medicine, and executive director of the Pediatric Institute.

Workshop topics will include:

  • Building identity, mentorship and promotion-readiness for early-career faculty
  • Sustaining leadership, scholarly impact and engagement for mid- and senior-career faculty
  • Strengthening intergenerational leadership and collaboration among academic leaders

The day will also include the presentation of the annual Faculty Awards, recognizing outstanding achievements and contributions across the College of Medicine community.

Visit the Faculty Day webpage for more details about speakers, topics and the full agenda.
