The Institute's outreach efforts to underserved communities include these free, interactive programs where expert panelists, usually physicians, provide information on a wide range of health topics.
The D. Walter Cohen Shared Leadership Scholarship was created to honor Dr. Cohen's role in founding Woman One and his commitment to shared leadership among women and men, while also addressing the problem of declining applications from underrepresented men in medicine.
Marion Spencer Fay, PhD, was dean and president of Woman's Medical College of Pennsylvania from 1946 to 1963. The National Board for Women in Medicine established an award in her name in 1963 to recognize her pioneering leadership.
The Sex and Gender Research Forum is an annual university-wide event highlighting Drexel’s multidisciplinary research.
VisionForward was a national coalition of individuals and organizations working to advance gender equity through women's leadership. The program was concluded effective December 2022.
The Woman One Award and Scholarship Fund annually honors a person of exceptional leadership and raises tuition funds for talented underrepresented students at Drexel University who are committed to practicing medicine in underserved communities and promoting women, and all underrepresented communities, in medicine.
The Doris Willig, MD, Award was endowed in 2009 by the adult children of Dr. Doris Willig in order to support education and research related to the mental health of girls during early childhood development.
The ELAM® program is the only in-depth national and international program that focuses on preparing women faculty in academic medicine for senior executive leadership positions.
