Daniel Jeong

Daniel Jeong
HOP CO-CHAIR (PHL)

Daniel is originally a native of California, having resided in Southern California most of his life and having graduated from UC Berkeley with a degree in molecular & cell biology. He is excited to be a part of the College of Medicine’s Health Outreach Project and its numerous partnerships with key non-profit organizations in Philadelphia, as he has always had a passion for community health and service. With his experience in volunteering within both health care and community outreach organizations, he hopes to continue the work of his predecessors in improving upon and expanding HOP in its mission to provide care and essential health services for those in need in the community, here in Philadelphia. A little bit about Daniel, he is also an outdoors aficionado: camping, hiking and exploring nature.

Peter Somboonsong

Peter Somboonsong
HOP CO-CHAIR (PHL)

Peter Somboonsong is an M2 from Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, and a graduate of the University of Richmond (go Spiders!) with a degree in biochemistry and molecular biology. His experience as an ER technician during the COVID-19 pandemic allowed him to see the harsh realities underserved and minority communities face in accessing necessary health care, fueling his dedication to patient advocacy and education. Peter is excited to join HOP as it offers the perfect platform to blend direct health service with educational initiatives, empowering Philadelphians to understand and advocate for their health. Beyond medical school, he enjoys playing basketball, spending time with friends and family and trying new things.

Similarly, Julian is passionate about serving his local community and always tries to pick up shift as a volunteer EMT in his hometown. As co-chair, Julian is eager to build HOP’s presence in the Reading area and to address the health needs of local underserved communities. In his free time, Julian enjoys listening to music and running.
