Alex is a first-year medical student from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She graduated from Yale with a degree in neuroscience. She is excited about integrating data and feedback to improve the experiences of the patients as well as the students and physicians who keep HOP running. The most rewarding part of her time at Drexel thus far has been engaging in community outreach activities like HOP. When she is not studying, she loves writing and playing music, cooking and watching Netflix. She also enjoys beating her friends at poker and mahjong.

Dianna is a first-year medical student from Los Angeles, California. She graduated from UCLA with a degree in psychobiology and minor in global health. Prior to starting medical school, Dianna studied the relationship between pediatric leukemia and obesity as a student researcher and volunteered to support her community through mobile clinics and afterschool programs dedicated to supporting students from underserved communities. Dianna was instantly drawn to HOP because of the organization’s commitment to building partnerships throughout the community and advocating for those whose voices are often unheard. She is passionate about raising awareness and addressing obstacles to health care, especially language and cultural barriers that deter many individuals from accessing care. She has appreciated the incredible opportunity to connect with individuals from different backgrounds and learn from their experiences. Dianna loves to travel and explore new places. She is an avid baker who enjoys experimenting with new recipes and recreating traditional Armenian dishes.

Ali Murad is a first-year medical student from Bucks County, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Temple University with a BS in neuroscience. After he graduated, he spent time working in research, as a pharmacy technician, in a neurology clinic. In all his past experiences he had the privilege of serving underserved communities that needed adequate access to care and social services. When he heard about the HOP program at Drexel, he knew that it would be his next venture into helping serve communities in need. He is so excited to be working as a pharmacy coordinator to combine all his past experiences to ensure the clinics are well equipped to serve their respective communities. In his free time he enjoys discovering new restaurants to eat at and experimenting with coffee brewing methods.

Ashley Mathew is a first-year medical student from Philadelphia. She graduated from Drexel University with a degree in biological sciences and a minor in Spanish. Ashley is excited to become more involved with her community. She is passionate about helping others, fostering inclusivity and combating health disparities. When she is not in class, she enjoys singing, hiking and chatting with friends.

Janelle is a first-year medical student from Sinking Spring, Pennsylvania. She received a Bachelor of Science in kinesiology from the Pennsylvania State University followed by a Master of Science in exercise science from the University of South Carolina. Prior to attending DUCOM, Janelle spent five years working in community health in Camden, New Jersey. During that time, she grew a passion for community engagement and care management for people living with complex health and social needs and is eager to continue pursuing similar work through HOP. When she's not studying, Janelle enjoys spending time on her South Philly stoop with the neighbors or heading to Beaver Stadium to watch Penn State football.

Rabia is a first-year medical student from Ashburn, Virginia. She graduated from George Mason University with a degree in biological sciences. Prior to starting medical school, Rabia knew her heart was in health care and servitude to others after volunteering at a free health clinic. HOP's mission instantly drew her in as she has always had a passion for organizing community events, raising awareness, and creating spaces and resources for socially injured populations. She wants to continue to do that work along with educating, empowering and building trust with the community through HOP’s clinics and projects. She also really appreciates that HOP has introduced her to the Philly area, diverse communities and friends with similar goals. In her free time she loves cooking, watching shows and spending time at home with her family and cats.

Vibhuti is a first-year medical student from Harleysville, Pennsylvania. She graduated from Temple University with a degree in biology. Prior to medical school, she was involved in Philadelphia's community health work and so HOP was an opportunity to continue to engage with community and health outreach. She is excited to get to work with the many talented members of HOP and be able to serve the people of our great city. Outside of school, Vibhuti enjoys baking, reading and going to Costco!

Alice He is a first-year medical student from San Francisco Bay Area, California. She graduated from Johns Hopkins University with majors in molecular and cellular biology, and medicine, science and the humanities. After college, Alice worked at Oak Street Health, a primary care clinic for Medicare patients in underserved communities in Philadelphia. After engaging with patients of various backgrounds and from different communities throughout Philadelphia, she was enthused to participate in HOP to continue making connections with the variety of populations she has met. Through the midst of countless hours of studying, HOP has served as a reminder of why she decided to enter the field of medicine -- to serve her community and to provide people with the care that they deserve. She is constantly inspired by the people who work tirelessly and endlessly to make HOP happen, and she is excited to be part of the cohort to help HOP grow! In her free time, Alice enjoys weightlifting, exploring new restaurants, and discovering new city and landscape views.

Michelle is a first-year medical student from South Jersey. She graduated from University of Maryland with a BS in biochemistry and later obtained an MS in biomedical sciences from Rutgers University. Throughout her educational and gap years, Michelle participated in several volunteer programs, research projects and clinical jobs that have allowed her to serve communities, both near and far. She joined HOP because it is an opportunity for her to champion the mission of providing holistic, empathetic and equitable care to Philadelphia’s most vulnerable patients. She is most excited to be on the executive board alongside other passionate and creative students that will assist her in ensuring that the most underserved individuals of this population have their needs heard and adequately met. Michelle has an uncontrollable obsession with candles, enjoys traveling to warm and sunny places and loves spending time with family and friends.
