Gokul Karthikeyan

Gokul Karthikeyan
HOP MARKETING CHAIR

Gokul is an M2 from Phoenix, AZ. For college, he attended Drexel University, where he majored in biological sciences and minored in business administration. He chose to join HOP because he wanted to gain more opportunities and experiences in serving the underserved populations of the Greater Philadelphia area. It is also his goal to raise awareness for the various issues in the Greater Philadelphia area throughout the College of Medicine community to spread College of Medicine's health expertise and presence throughout the community. Outside of HOP and school studying, Gokul enjoys playing volleyball, hiking tennis, and watching his favorite Arizona sports teams.

Suhani Patel
COMMUNITY EVENTS HEALTH COORDINATOR

Suhani is an M2 from Bensalem, Pennsylvania, right outside of Philadelphia. She graduated from Temple University with a degree in biology and a minor in public health. During her time at undergrad, she was involved in working to help bridge the gap between low-income and minority communities in Philadelphia and health care through health education. These experiences have greatly contributed to her interest in joining HOP. Through HOP, she wants to gain more experience learning about the issues underserved communities face and wants to be part of HOP's commitment to serving vulnerable populations through community outreach.


Alisha Sodhi

Alisha Sodhi
ADVOCACY COORDINATOR

Alisha is a M2 from Westford, Massachusetts. She graduated from Boston University with a BS in human physiology. After graduating, she worked as a clinical research coordinator at Massachusetts General Hospital in orthopaedic oncology, where she explored her passion for both clinical outcomes research and helping others through difficult times. Alisha is enthusiastic about patient advocacy and working towards providing a means for all patients to have access to equitable and effective health care. She chose to join HOP to pursue her passions further and expand upon previous experiences working with underserved populations.


Radean Anvari

Radean Anvari
STREET OUTREACH COORDINATOR

Radean is an M2 born in Houston, Texas but raised in Irvine, Calif.. He graduated in biological sciences from UC Santa Barbara in 2021. Radean’s interest in serving underserved medical communities began when he volunteered for People Assisting The Homeless (PATH) in Santa Barbara during his freshman year of college. This is where his passion for improving the health of people experiencing homelessness in urban communities began. Radean is excited to serve as the street outreach coordinator where he can continue to advocate for the health of these community members. In his free time, Radean is a heavy metal guitarist of over 16 years and writes music.


Freida Raj

Freida Raj
HEALTH EDUCATION COORDINATOR (WR)

Freida is an M2 from Yakima, Washington. She graduated from the University of California Los Angeles with a B.S. in human biology and society. Freida chose to get more involved with HOP because of her dedication to working with underserved and immigrant populations in West Reading and beyond. She is passionate about health education surrounding preventative medicine and reproductive justice. In her free time, she enjoys live music and exploring different food scenes.


Dave Chen

Dave Chen
DIVERSITY LIAISON

Dave is a M2 from Queens, New York. He graduated from Cornell University with a BS in biological engineering. Before attending medical school, he worked as a scribe at the height of the pandemic in an urgent care clinic and served as a tutor for first-generation and low-income high school students. He chose to join HOP to contribute to its mission of addressing the health disparities that different underserved communities around Philadelphia face. Outside of school, Dave enjoys playing volleyball, exploring different restaurants and going to cat cafes.


Simone Nabors

Simone Nabors
PHARMACY COORDINATOR (WR)

Simone is an M2 from Wake Forest, North Carolina. In 2023, she graduated from Duke University with a BS in neuroscience and a minor in chemistry. As a Black gay woman, she has witnessed the disparities in health care access for the communities she finds herself a part of. She’s passionate about providing care to these communities and others that have been historically underserved, which is what initially drew her to HOP. Simone looks forward to working with other HOP members to continue to serve the West Reading community. Outside of school, you can find her curled up with a good book and a warm blanket.


Felicia Yan

QUALITY ASSURANCE

Felicia is a M2 who is from the suburbs of Philadelphia. Felicia attended the University of Pittsburgh and majored in biological sciences and economics. She chose to join HOP because she is passionate about serving and supporting the health of the community around her. She is eager to do her part in furthering its mission in providing care to the underserved members of the Philadelphia and West Reading community. Outside of school, Felicia can be found playing tennis, baking and crocheting.


Kamal Shaik

Kamal Shaik
HEALTH EDUCATION COORDINATOR (PHL)

Kamal is a M2 from Chandler, Arizona. He graduated from Arizona State University with a BS in biomedical sciences, double minors in business and religious studies, and a certificate in evolutionary medicine. Among his other involvements during his time at Arizona State, Kamal was a researcher in the Pharmacokinetics Lab at the Ivy Brain Tumor Center and a volunteer at his local hospital, where he assisted the community education department in piloting a strength and nutrition program for women from underserved communities with Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS). Kamal is excited to bring his experience of working at the intersection of community education and public health to his role in HOP as the Health Education Coordinator, where he will work toward addressing the health care inequalities of the Greater Philadelphia area by improving the medical literacy of his community.


Christin Ealer

Christin Ealer
PHYSICIAN RECRUITMENT/STUDENT TRAINING

Christin is an M2 from Devon, Pennsylvania. She graduated from Dartmouth College with a degree in psychology and philosophy. Prior to medical school, Christin did research at Geisel School of Medicine, studying auditory and cognitive function in people living with HIV. Christin is very excited to be working with HOP and hopes to recruit more physicians into HOP’s programs. She is committed to fostering strong connections between HOP's initiatives and the communities they serve, while also providing learning opportunities for future medical students. In her free time, Christin likes to ski, listen to live music and explore new restaurants.


Jaclyn Lo

Jaclyn Lo
PHARMACY COORDINATOR

Jaclyn is an M2 who has lived in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Colorado, Canada and Singapore. She graduated from Bryn Mawr College with a degree in biochemistry and molecular biology and a minor in health studies. She has a long-standing, demonstrated commitment to underserved and underprivileged populations. In clinical, research and coaching settings, she has served a variety of populations, including pediatric, adolescent, LGBTQ+, ID/DD/ASD, PCOS and leprosy. She is excited to bring her experiences in health education, community engagement, and advocacy to the Health Outreach Project to advance the care provided to fellow Philadelphians grounded in social justice, health equity and whole person health.
