Intimate partner violence (IPV) is one of the most common forms of violence against women. It affects one in four women and one in ten men. The World Health Organization conducted a multi-country study on women's health and domestic violence against women, collecting data from more than 24,000 women in ten countries. The study found that IPV was a widespread issue in all studied countries. Different types of violence often coexist.
