Annual Giving & Class Gifts
A primary goal of ELAM is to sustain women, and particularly our alumnae, in their leadership roles. We do this by:
- Enhancing ELUM community-building activities across numerous platforms and at many levels
- Distributing the biweekly ELAM Edge e-newsletter with position announcements, program and alumnae updates, and leadership-themed news items
- Providing support for search committees filling senior-level positions, and preparing customized resource/candidate lists to executive search firms
- Offering advanced leadership development programs for alumnae
- Being available for phone consultations with our ELUMs
- And a lot more
The support we receive from ELUMs is crucial in helping us in these efforts.

Annual giving, class gifts and pledges all go to support these important funds.
Founders Fund
The Founders Fund supports the endowment of a director's chair for ELAM, an important step toward the permanency of the program.
Innovations Fund
The Innovations Fund, established at ELAM's 10th anniversary, supports the goals of sustaining women's leadership and changing the culture of academic health centers to value women's contributions by addressing all aspects of the leadership continuum, from changing roles and positions within or beyond one's institution and supporting post-ELAM education opportunities.
Laura Lynch Legacy Fund
The Laura Lynch Legacy Fund, initiated by the ELAM 2009 class gift, with the goal of establishing explicit support for ELAM alumnae programming, provides support for alumnae professional development programs and community-building within and across classes and learning communities.

ELAM is a core program of the Institute for Women's Health and Leadership at Drexel University College of Medicine, Philadelphia, Pa. The Institute continues the legacy of advancing women in medicine that began in 1850 with the founding of the Female Medical College of Pennsylvania, the nation's first women's medical school and a predecessor of today's Drexel University College of Medicine.
