The Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology offers a challenging and broad-based graduate program of research and course work leading to the MS or PhD degree. The aim of the graduate program is to train scientists to identify, address and solve biomedical problems at the molecular level. The themes of molecular structure, molecular mechanisms and molecular regulation are recurrent throughout the diverse research areas represented by the Biochemistry & Molecular Biology faculty.
The Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology at Drexel University College of Medicine awards scholarships to help defray tuition expense.
BIOCHEMISTRY OF HEALTH & DISEASE - MS / PHD
Biochemistry of Health & Disease (BHAD) is a challenging, broad-based graduate program involving research and coursework. Through this graduate program, students work at the interface between chemistry and biology to probe the interactions between biomolecules that direct cellular function.
BIOTECHNOLOGY - MS
The Biotechnology (BIOT) program is a combination of classroom and hands-on instruction to provide training focused on cutting-edge technologies used in modern bioscience and biotechnology.
CANCER BIOLOGY - MS
The Cancer Biology (CBIO) program provides a degree focused on the fundamentals of cancer from an interdisciplinary perspective, including molecular and cell biology of cancer initiation, metastasis, treatment and prevention.
Certificate in Molecular Basis of Cancer - CMCA
The Certificate in Molecular Basis of Cancer (CMCA) program is an online program that provides students with fundamental understanding of the biochemistry, molecular biology, and cell biology associated with cancers. The online asynchronous coursework focuses on the molecular basis of cancer diagnostics, therapeutics and treatments.
MOLECULAR & CELL BIOLOGY & GENETICS - MS / PHD
The Molecular & Cell Biology & Genetics (MCBG) program provides a broad education-training for graduate students interested in biomedical problems that cross disciplinary boundaries. Students have the opportunity pursue research interests under the guidance of faculty in six different departments/centers.
