EMT Training Registration Deadline
Friday, January 15, 2016
12:00 AM-12:00 AM
The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Course has three components: didactic (200+ hours) which includes practical and hands-on skills training, the clinical/field ride-along (approximately 8-12 hours total of observation with a minimum of 10 patient contacts), and final testing (6-12 hours). Through lectures, interactive presentations, skills labs, and simulations, you will build the knowledge and skills to care for, and provide transportation of sick and injured patients.
NOTE: Clinical/Field Ride-Along: As a student you must complete 8 hours of observation under the supervision of a preceptor at an affiliated hospital ER or ambulance company. This may be completed starting mid-point through the course if you have completed all of the course medical requirements. The clinical/field ride-along must be completed within 30 days from the last day of didactic. The available shifts include day, evening, and weekends shifts (separate from the classroom hours) and will be coordinated through the class clinical coordinator.
