What made you realize you were interested in engineering?
I first knew I was interested in engineering during my freshman year of high school. I have always loved problem-solving, math, and helping others, and I realized that engineering checked all of those boxes.
When you were looking at colleges, what stood out about Drexel?
I was attending college interview day and had heard from lots of different schools before sitting down at the Drexel table. Once I heard about the co-op program, I was convinced this is where I belonged. And that has held true…the Co-op program has helped me gain confidence in my interview skills. Public speaking is something I’ve always struggled with, but I felt great coming out of every interview.
Tell us about your favorite class.
My favorite class so far has to be Construction Drawings. It was a really great introduction to things I will one day be seeing on-site. I also really enjoy everything about my major, especially the people. I came from a small high school where I knew everyone’s name, and that is exactly what I’m experiencing in the Construction Management Program as well.
What piece of advice would you give to someone who's thinking about declaring a major right now?
Make sure the field you choose is something that will excite you day after day. Loving what career you’re in is the best way to perform your best work!
